School ReportYou are in: Leicester > School Report > News Day Success News Day SuccessAfter months of preparation, School Reporters in Leicester and Leicestershire made the news for real on 13 March. Watch their bulletins through our interactive map and listen to our interviews! The News Day on Thursday 13 March is the culmination of the 成人论坛 News initiative. Today, schools from Leicester, Loughborough, Shepshed, Hinckley and Melton Mowbray made the news for real. The 11 to 14-year-olds covered breaking news stories as well as broadcasting prepared reports on a range of topics including internet safety, dyslexia and increasing cinema prices.
The Big News DayThe young reporters had until 14:00 to complete their reports, their news bulletins were published on their school websites by 16:00. Practice News DayIn order to prepare for the big news day, Babington College reporters bagged an exclusive interview with comedian Jason Finn, he performed at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2008. This rehearsal day helped the students put theory into practice and honed their newsroom skills. Reporter April, from the college said, "I was the reporter for the radio report and it was quite hard interviewing Jason as we had to make sure we had prepared him on the the sorts of questions we were going to ask."
