When 成人论坛 Leicester's Tony Wadsworth asked his listeners whether age should make a difference in a relationship the response was immediate.

It seems everyone has a view on the subject. However, the consensus is that it really shouldn't matter -听so long as both parties are happy.

Sarah and Tony certainly seem to be happy. She is 21 and he is 41 years her senior.

Tony says: "As soon as Sarah got into the car we hit it off as if we'd known each other for years... At first it was friendship but then it developed into something more."

But was the family critical of the age gap?

Sarah says: "At first I didn't tell my parents. But then they clocked what was going on. They were fine about it but dad was unhappy I had kept quiet about it."

听Her dad said it was important that they were happy together and they are.

Tony and Sarah talk frankly about their 41 year age gap...

Tony says he often gets mistaken for Sarah's father but this seems to bother the people involved rather than him.

He was married for twenty years and his wife died suddenly 5 years ago. He says that when his wife died he thought he'd never get married again. But Sarah changed all that.

Does Sarah see Tony as a father figure? "No... I speak to my dad every week. I see Tony as my soul-mate, my life partner."

But surely there must me some draw-backs? After all Sarah could end up as Tony's carer. Tony is adamant. "We've been through all this and we are prepared to accept it."

Both clearly know what the score is.

Sarah, meanwhile, reckons Tony treats her with far more consideration than younger men. The only trouble is that he rarely sends her flowers. But when thy are surrounded by them all day that is understandable!
