Are you up for the challenge?

For Sport Relief 2008 we're asking you to challenge yourself, your family, your friends or your colleagues to do something sporty and raise cash at the same time.

Last Sport Relief saw David Walliams swim the English Channel in just 10½ hours, while 12 brave stars learnt to show-jump for TV programme Only Fools On Horses.

Take a lead from their example and challenge yourself, your family, friends and colleagues to do something sporty and raise cash at the same time.

The ultimate challenge is doing the Sport Relief Mile where hundreds of thousands of people across the country will take to the streets and go the distance.

Jake does Sport Relief

The whole of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ will be behind Sport Relief 2008 too, including sports presenter Jake Humphrey, who returned to his Norfolk home to help launch this year's fund-raising drive.

"There's a huge mile happening in Norwich and I want everybody to get involved," said Jake.

Jake Humphrey: Back in Norwich

"Don't sit at home and watch other people running a mile, get yourself some red socks by running around Norwich city."

With so much planned, Sport Relief 2008 is all set to be a real winner.

Are you up for the challenge?

We're looking for people to take part in and organise Sport Relief Mile events that are fun and enable you to raise loads of cash for Comic Relief at the same time.

There are 23 flagship miles dotted across the UK including one in Norwich.

If you're interested in organising a Sport Relief Mile you'll need:

  • To hold your event on Sunday, 16 March, 2008.
  • To make your event open to the public and accessible to all.
  • To be over 18 years old (if you are the organiser).
  • To have good organisational skills and buckets of enthusiasm.
  • Access to a free venue and a mile course - for example a sports ground, local park, university campus or a space big enough for lots of people.
  • A group of reliable and fired up volunteers to help you.
