Andi Dawson

I have lived in Belfast for almost 10 years now and I'm starting to think of this place as home. I have been writing since my first year of High School, when my English teacher said she thought I had a knack for words. I haven't got a personal website just now, but you can hear some of my work via . (The ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.)

Competition by Andi Dawson

Imagine if everything in life was a competition.
Would you compete and win first prize?
Just think if everything you did was graded,
Would there be an award for your best lies?
Could your ability to love be audited?
Should your hardship be called second best?
Would there be a measure for your need and hunger?
Maybe your vulgarity could be put to the test.
If you were upset could your depression be weighed?
If you thought you’d win ‘best crier’ would you keep all of your tears?
If everything in life was about being the best,
Would you train for a number of years?
How would you know you were ready for the challenge?
Would you have someone to pick you up if you fell?
Do you think you should be the one to say you’re good enough?
Or should entrance be strictly monitored as well?
