In past times canals provided vital links in the
county's transport system. The Nottingham Canal (opened 1796) connected
the River Trent, at Trent Bridge, with Langley Mill, near Eastwood.
Today the canals of Nottinghamshire are a focal point for tourists,
walkers and fishermen.
Sit back and enjoy the sunshine with Mark as he trys to catch some
pike. Look out for the stork that lives in these parts of the Nottingham
Canal by the London Road Island.
