Carrie & Barry
Michelle (Michelle Gomez), Carrie (Claire Rushbrook), Barry (Neil Morrissey) and Kirk (Mark Williams)

Carrie & Barry - a brand new situation comedy for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ ONE

Synopses

Episode One

Carrie accidentally hits her face on a cupboard door, the whole world thinks Barry is a sadistic wife-batterer.

While she enjoys the attention that only a black-eye and put-upon expression can attract, Barry is forced into finding out whether his daughter's new boyfriend just wants sex. He does.

Episode Two

Barry accuses sleep-deprived Carrie of being a body-hair fascist when she resorts to waxing his back in the middle of the night.

He's had enough too of best mate Kirk and his lack of sophistication.

Barry can do better and befriends French intellectual neighbour Jean-Francois who he introduces to the delights of the British pub.

Michelle meanwhile suggests Carrie tries sex as an aid to sleep.

Episode Three

Carrie and Barry's sex life has gradually been replaced by hours of compulsive car-crash telly programmes.

As Barry doesn't want to 'wrap it in rubber', Carrie asks if he'll have a vasectomy.

Kirk advises against such drastic measures - what if Kate Moss wants his babies?

More of a dilemma however is how Barry deals with Kirk when he makes a pass at Carrie.

Attention: this episode carries a cute dog warning…

Episode Four

Barry's bored. Bored enough to try on Carrie's clothes, stupid enough to get caught by his teenage daughter Sinead.

This does little to cure Sinead's depression and step-mum Carrie's helpful suggestions of going shopping or waiting for Christmas aren't actually that helpful.

Kirk and Michelle also fail to cheer her up and only catching Carrie's sexual fantasy of being rescued by Barry dressed as a fireman can raise a smile.

Episode Five

Carrie goes into PC overdrive when interviewing prospective tenant Duncan, a person of restricted growth.

Barry doesn't want to drive a taxi anymore but the only person to let him practise his prospective new career as a masseur is best mate Kirk.

The 'massage' goes well until Kirk starts to feel a 'stirring' down below…

Michelle's blind date with Duncan is equally disastrous.

Episode six

Carrie and Barry realise their sex life has become like a chore, albeit a pleasant one.

For their respective best mates Kirk and Michelle however, the lack of sex is becoming a problem.

Why didn't Carrie think of it before? Kirk and Michelle should date each other.

Barry isn't quite as sure, but Kirk is more than willing to strip away acid-tongued Michelle's hard layers to find the lost soul beneath…
