Radio 2 Live In Aberdeen Saturday 1 to Saturday 8 October
Introduction
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 2 heads to Aberdeen for a week in October, bringing a variety of star names, presenters and programmes to the city.

Radio 2 Live in Aberdeen runs from 1 to 8 October and is being supported by Aberdeen City Council through the City Growth Fund Energising Aberdeen programme.
Ìý
Among the stars performing are Texas, Natalie Imbruglia, Moby, Jools Holland, Mick Hucknall, The Tears, KT Tunstall, Hard-Fi, Tony Christie, Gretchen Peters, Barbara Dickson, Michael McGoldrick, Karine Polwart and Gavin DeGraw.

They are performing exclusive sets, from venues around the city, in a week of live music ranging from popular to folk, country and classical.

Tickets to all these events are free.

Radio 2 presenters Terry Wogan, Dermot O'Leary, Jeremy Vine, Mark Radcliffe, Bob Harris and Mike Harding broadcast their programmes from the city and Ken Bruce presents an edition of Friday Night Is Music Night, featuring the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Concert Orchestra.

As part of Sold On Song — Radio 2's initiative celebrating the art of songwriting — Mick Hucknall of Simply Red gives an exclusive insight into his work, performing some of his songs and talking about how they came to be.

In association with Radio 2's Sold on Song, The Performing Right Society (PRS) presents a series of Demo To Limo themed events for those wanting to learn more about getting ahead in the music industry.

Speakers from PRS and the music industry are on hand with invaluable advice on how to make a career in music.

The Radio 2 website – bbc.co.uk/radio2 – will feature full details of the week's events plus photos of the artists performing live, audio highlights, quizzes, competitions, on-air details and the opportunity to listen to the shows as they're broadcast live (and for seven days after transmission via the Radio Player).
