Shakespeare on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳
The Taming of the Shrew on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ ONE, part of the Shakespeare season across the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳

ShakespeaRe-Told

This autumn across the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳

Ìý

This autumn, the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ brings Shakespeare and his stories to audiences with a variety of new programmes and initiatives across its services – television, radio, online and interactive.

Ìý

Shakespeare on bbc.co.uk and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳i

Ìý

bbc.co.uk/shakespeare

Ìý

³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Interactive Drama and Entertainment presents a content-rich website in support of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ ONE dramas, plus full listings for Shakespeare programming across all ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ channels and platforms.

Ìý

In addition, bbc.co.uk/shakespeare presents a Shakespearean Murder Mystery interactive web game.

Ìý

It will take the gore of Shakespeare's tragedies, the wit of his comedies, and the tight plotting of all his work, and place them within a gothic horror story.

Ìý

A compelling narrative will engage the player as they explore Shakespeare's works and life to unravel and maybe prevent a grisly series of murders.

Ìý

³ÉÈËÂÛ̳i - Shakespeare's Stories

Ìý

As a compliment to ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ ONE's four films, Interactive Drama and Entertainment's eTV team give viewers the chance to play with Shakespeare's language and deconstruct his texts.

Ìý

When the viewer presses their red button after each ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ ONE adaptation, they will be introduced to the interactive TV experience by actor David Oyelowo.

Ìý

Here they will have a chance to view a scene from the drama in the original text and examine the story from four different angles:

Ìý

- Like a director's commentary, they can explore the original language in a glossary

Ìý

- Go behind the scenes with interviews with actors, writers and directors of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ ONE films

Ìý

- looks at the context, theatre history and Shakespeare's life, including interviews with Sir Peter Hall and Michael Wood

Ìý

- explore the themes and moods of the plays

Ìý

The interactive shows will be accessible from all digital TV platforms and also available as a groundbreaking, video-rich, broadband to PC service.
