Episode One: Si and Dave Do Namibia [Part One]

Dave Myers and Si King, two northern lads with a love of motorbikes and good food, find themselves in the strange Germanic town of Swakopmund, on the Namibian coast.

Ìý

First on the menu is a traditional barbeque, or braai; and to find the right spot among the massive dunes, the boys take to the air in a microlight.

Ìý

Having gorged themselves on Si's crocodile satay and Dave's oryx rolls, they explore the contrasting delights of a Bavarian café and a township shebeen, before being treated to their first taste of a mopane worm.

Ìý

Tastier local fare is on offer in the shape of the delicious local crayfish, wrestled from the ocean despite the worst-fitting wetsuits of all time, and cooked in a rock salt tandoori with asparagus rice.

And a chance meeting with a local guide promises an interesting quest ahead.

Episode Two: Si and Dave Do Namibia [Part Two]

Our intrepid bikers Si King and Dave Myers set off on a remarkable expedition to the very north of Namibia.

Ìý

They're going in search of the Himba tribe, one of the last nomadic peoples to fully preserve their traditional way of life.

Ìý

The journey includes close encounters with ostrich (and a giant fried egg for breakfast), giraffe, and the rare desert elephants of Kaokoland.

Ìý

But it's also a ride through a breathtaking landscape, with some of the world's oldest plants, and the strange fairy circles in which the boys pitch camp.

Ìý

Along the way, they roast lamb in an earth pit, and try the local sport of long-distance spitting… using springbok droppings. And their trip ends with a traditional bobotie cooked for the Himba – but will their nomadic guests show up?

Episode Three: Si and Dave Do the Isle of Man

Ìý

For two lifelong bikers and foodies, the chance to combine a trip to the annual TT Races with some serious cooking is irresistible. However, to get a couple of motorbikes onto a catamaran for the trip requires an unusual solution.

Dave Myers and Si King are the bikers-turned-sailors who spend a happy afternoon cooking crab soufflés and sea bass on the back of the boat, only to wake up next morning in the teeth of a gale.

On finally reaching Douglas, the boys encounter the strange Loaghtan sheep, and set up a bikers' feast of local lamb and scallops on the beach.

But the real highlight comes on Mad Sunday, when the TT course is open to all riders: will the boys' unusual new bikes get them round in one piece?

Episode Four: Si and Dave Do Ireland

Ìý

Fresh fish and happy meat… tall tales and velvet stout… Ireland for Si and Dave is a kind of bikers' nirvana.

Ìý

The boys get to sample the fruits of the Carlingford oyster beds, try the dubious delights of the Enniscrone seawater baths, and swap their motorbikes for the more sedate pleasure of a horse-drawn caravan.

Meanwhile, from Louisiana Po'Boys to Irish Whiskey Syllabub, the Bikers cook up a collection of dishes for every occasion

But throughout their journey, one quest remains: the secret of the perfect Irish stew.

And before the final cook-off, there's plenty of advice on offer, from top chef Neven Maguire to members of Ireland's travelling community – and even the patrons of Flukie's Cosy Bar…

Episode Five: Si and Dave Do Transylvania [Part One]

Ìý

Doing their best to discover whether Transylvania really is all rare meat and garlic, Si and Dave travel through Romania by motorbike on a quest for great food.

Ìý

First stop is one of Bucharest's vibrant markets, followed by an alfresco pancake session on the roof of the Ministry of Finance.

Ìý

A trip to see Brancusi's peerless work in the town of Targu Jiu is followed by the fairytale Corvin Castle – and the start of the Dracula legend.

Ìý

Having cooked pork sarmales in baking heat by the drawbridge, how better to cool off than with a quick dip – though perhaps not in the particular spa the boys find themselves in…

Episode Six: Si and Dave Do Transylvania [Part Two]

Ìý

From Sighisoara, in the heart of Transylvania, the search is on for Sarah – the lady who makes chicken noodle soup by Royal Appointment.

Ìý

And having sampled her hospitality, Si and Dave return the favour and explore the Hungarian influence in the area by cooking Chicken Paprikas and Spaetzles on the hills overlooking her village.

Ìý

Then it's time to turn the bikes north towards the Ukrainian border, to a world of strange hats for bachelors and ewe's milk pudding, where the boys make dill blinis and spicy Romanian sausages.

And a final appointment in a cemetery – though a cemetery unlike anything they've seen before…
