Get some Headroom and unwind your mind

The Headroom Tent

The Headroom Tent is about empowerment and emotional freedom brought to life in fun, innovative and life-enhancing ways. It is a place for visitors to drop in and find new ways of dealing with life's ups and downs.

Ìý

Rather than use the same old and heavy ways of talking about mental wellbeing, the tent uses state-of-the-art music, interactivity and design to engage people in facts and tips that can help.

Ìý

It is divided into five zones, each with a different design, instructions, mind tips and ideas, quotes and facts.

Ìý

It is designed by Elemental Worldwide. The tent is produced by Nick Jankel.

Ìý

Zone 1: More bounce to the ounce

Ìý

The first step to making things happen is to know what you really want and to write it down. So draw your life as you want it and then get on a bouncy castle or a space hopper, let go a little, and burn your dreams onto the hard-drive of your mind as you get moving.

Ìý

Zone 2: Thank Tank

Ìý

The best way of resisting feeling sorry for ourselves, being a victim or being sad, is to remember what we do have and what is worth living for. As we focus on what we are grateful for our mind begins to work on creating more of it. On the wall will be a giant thank-tank. Join with fellow festival-goers, take a sticker and write what you are grateful for. Then put yours in the tank until we build a huge wall of thanks.

Ìý

Zone 3: DreamFields

Ìý

Sit (or lie!) down in Dreamfields and listen on one of the many headphones to specially created chill-out experiences – guided meditations for de-stressing from exams, work or life. Or leaf through photo-books of nature, of surfing and mountain climbing – pages of images that inspire and re-tune the mind to the power of nature and our own imaginations.

Ìý

Zone 4: ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Roar-chestra

Ìý

When we create something together, our sense of fulfillment sky- rockets. The Roar-chestra is about being a creative member of a team – making good vibes, making music, making people smile. With three sessions a day festival goers can join in doo-wop singing and soundscape-making (with recycled instruments). This zone proves that every human can make music with our own bodies and the stuff we have around us.

Ìý

Zone 5: Keeping it Local

Ìý

When you are alive with amazing things to do, you don't need drink and drugs (or shopping or gambling or any other addictions) to fill the gap. Look at a giant, stylised, map of the local area to see what is available. Either add great stuff you know about by "pinning you passion to the map" or sign-up there and then to volunteer, to join groups, to get information to switch on your life even more.
