Half Moon Investigations
Olivia Grant is Mia Stone
Mia is the sassy, straight-talking journalist for the school newspaper, always in pursuit of her latest scoop. If Half Moon wants the truth; Mia just wants the story.
Ìý
Mia is a social butterfly, dropping into social groups to get the latest information. She tends to only help Half Moon's investigation when it furthers her story or when Half Moon can convince her she'll get a scoop out of it in the end.
Ìý
Mia's knowledge of playground politics and her ability to read a social situation in a second is invaluable.
She brings the emotional intelligence that Half Moon and Red's investigations sorely lack.
Ìý
Half Moon thinks Mia would make a fantastic detective but it's the story Mia is after and this can lead her into her own moral dilemmas. Mia has a secret soft spot for Red, but being Mia, this is expressed by being meaner to Red than everyone else.
Ìý
Mia is played by young actress Olivia Grant (13): "Mia is very nosy and always in people's business. I also think that she tries to act smarter than she actually is. She will say things that sound very clever even if she doesn't know what they actually mean.
Ìý
"Dad gives me lots of advice and so does my mum. My dad used to be a journalist so he has helped me a lot on how to act, my posture and stuff and how I should say certain lines – so that has really helped. My dad tries to be a comedian but my younger sister, Talia, is the funniest member of the family."
Ìý
Olivia is no stranger to TV, having appeared in Tracey Beaker and in EastEnders as Bernadette, the girl who bullied Abby Branning.
Ìý
But playing Mia is Olivia's biggest role to date and has meant spending long periods away from home.
Ìý
"It has been really good because I love acting, but I do miss my school friends and my family. Without them I would fall to pieces.
Ìý
"When I got the part my parents texted everyone before they told me! I called up all my friends to tell them and when I went to school I was really excited."
Ìý
In her spare time Olivia is also a keen gymnast, enjoys hurdles and also loves to sing.
Ìý
"I started hurdling at the beginning of year eight and found that I was actually quite good at them. And I always watch music television during breaks from filming because I just love music."
