Frankenstein's Wedding... Live In Leeds: production credits

Creative Director – Colin Teague

What attracted you to Frankenstein's Wedding... Live In Leeds?

"The whole scale of the project is fantastic and it's a great opportunity to get involved in the challenges of a classic novel adaptation. The phenomenal gothic backdrop of Kirkstall Abbey is really going to bring the story to life and I'm looking forward to telling the narrative through the variety of exciting elements that we have planned, be it drama, dance, music or projection."

What are your ambitions for the project?

"I want to delve in and really draw out the true meaning of Shelley's novel. I hope that we can offer a spectacular modern-day adaptation that draws on the core of the story and questions the notions of the 'real' monster, who he really is – Victor or the Creature."

What should the audience expect from the project?

"The audience will be at the very heart of this event. Not only will we be asking them to don their favourite wedding attire, they will be integral to the mass celebratory wedding dance.

"They can also look forward to the stunning light projections, an array of music and a great modern adaptation of a classis storyline, told by a fantastic cast in a fresh and engaging way."

Colin Teague has directed numerous ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ productions, including Torchwood, Doctor Who and Being Human.

Musical Director – Steve Sidwell

What attracted you to Frankenstein's Wedding... Live In Leeds?

"I liked the sound of the project, the script and the musical challenges that are set out. I will have to compose underscore to film and live action and arrange songs to accompany the wedding. The enthusiasm of the creative and production teams was also infectious."

What music can we expect from the project?

"The project will see an original score, which will be a mixture of orchestral and electronic sounds, as well as arrangements of some contemporary and traditional music and songs. We will feature a live band, singers, orchestra and a large choir."

How important will the music be in telling the story of Frankenstein?

"My aim is that the music will work in conjunction with the actions and narrative of the piece. The score will be written to outline the plot and the characters within. It will also be the focal point with the featured songs and dance routines."

Steven Sidwell is known for his work as a musician, composer, arranger and a conductor. His vast array of projects include involvement with Moulin Rouge, Robbie Williams Live at the Albert Hall and the Royal Variety Performance.
