It's Christmas Day but there seems to be a severe shortage of presents at PPCTV, and everyone is thoroughly fed up. It's only when Pinky and Perky come across a sack of familiar-looking letters that they realise what has happened – they forgot to send everyone's Christmas lists to Santa! Perky panics and tries to get rid of the evidence by hiding the letters, but they soon find a way of coming back to haunt him.

Pinky and Perky's secret finally comes out when the offending articles make an unexpected appearance during their live show and they suddenly find they have a lot of explaining to do. When a very important visitor arrives with presents in tow, though, it looks as though their bacon has been saved!

It is Christmas Eve 1929 and, stranded at a remote country station on their way to Granny Chuckles Christmas Charades Party, Paul and Barry are thrown into the Mystery of Little-Under-Standing. "The White Glove", a notorious jewel thief, is in the area. He makes friends with posh people and steals the best pickings from under their noses! No wonder he wears gloves!

The brothers are staying at Halle Bere Hall, where Paul once knew the owner, and they are determined to unmask the thief if he turns up. Thank goodness they find Molly and a disguise or two...
