Youth sitcom Coming Of Age is recommissioned for 成人论坛 Three
|
After a highly successful first series, youth sitcom Coming Of Age has been recommissioned for 成人论坛 Three.
Tim Dawson, now 20 years old, will return to his comic creation in which a group of sixth-form students in Abingdon enjoy a final romp with adolescence.
Coming Of Age is a celebration of youth and, as well as being scripted by a young writer, features some of the UK's top young comedy actors, including Ceri Phillips (Casualty) as Ollie and Joe Tracini (My Spy Family) as DK.
The first series enjoyed strong ratings on 成人论坛 Three with a very impressive share of 6% for 16-34s – well above the slot average - and an average weekly reach of 1.2 million.
Its popularity amongst the youth audience is reflected in its performance on platforms such as the 成人论坛 Three website and 成人论坛 iPlayer – there was high demand for online premieres of each episode, and the programme was always in the top ten requested programmes on 成人论坛 iPlayer the day following transmission.
Danny Cohen, Controller of 成人论坛 Three, says: "I'm delighted that Coming Of Age has been such a hit with young viewers.
"The writer Tim Dawson and the young cast are bright emerging stars for the 成人论坛."
Mark Freeland, Head of Comedy, 成人论坛 Vision Studios, says: "I should be depressed that writers are now half my age. But I'm not.
"This is a brilliant achievement by an exciting, original writer, prepared to take on audience sitcom. We are thrilled that 成人论坛 Three is backing such young and authentic talent."
Tim Dawson will write the eight new 30-minute episodes. Executive Producer will be Jo Sargent.
The second series of Coming Of Age will be shown on 成人论坛 Three in 2009.
