Katherine Jenkins' Classical Christmas

Welsh mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins plays light orchestral and opera music with a Christmas flavour.

Award-winning Welsh mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins hosts her own Radio 2 show playing the finest light orchestral and opera music with a Christmas flavour.

Katherine has a passion for all types of music and this programme reflects a broad festive selection of light classical music, with the emphasis on great performers and composers. We also discover the kind of songs you'd expect to hear in the Jenkins household at this special time of year.

The playlist ranges from seasonal classics by Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev, to new releases by Karl Jenkins, The Soldiers and Sting. We also discover more about Katherine and her favourite singers as she enthuses about legendary names Maria Callas, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Andrea Bocelli. And being Welsh and proud of it, Katherine's selection wouldn't be complete without Bryn Terfel and The Treorchy Male Voice Choir.
