Marking the 75th anniversary celebrations of the 成人论坛 Scottish Symphony Orchestra (SSO), this documentary traces the progression of the SSO from a humble studio ensemble to one of the leading symphony orchestras in the UK. The programme revisits some of the many musicians and conductors who have featured in the orchestra's fascinating journey, looking back at how the orchestra has survived and fullfills its remit to innovate and nurture classical music in Scotland.

The film also shows how the last 25 years have seen the orchestra gradually emerge from the studio to become a fully fledged public orchestra, but also one whose reach over the airwaves stretches far beyond the concert platform to audiences worldwide. Featuring contributions from many of the musicians and key figures in the orchestra's past and present who witnessed its transformation, including conductors Donald Runnicles, Osmo V盲nsk盲 and composer James MacMillan.
