We hear from Nimco Ali and Leyla Hussein, joint number six on our t. It was felt they both deserved recognition because of 鈥渟aving the lives of girls across the UK with their work鈥� in challenging the practise of Female Genital Mutilation. Judge Reni Eddo-Lodge said their organisation, Daughters of Eve, came to the fore because it has managed to change national discourse on this issue and mainstreamed it. They both join Jenni in the Woman鈥檚 Hour studio to talk about what continues to propel them to work toward a culture change and a legacy around the safety.聽

Over the weekend the world was shocked by news reports that a 22 year-old student called Elliot Rodger had murdered six people and injured several others at his university in California.聽 Laurie Penny joins Jenni to explain why over 1.2 million people have used the #YesAllWomen hashtag to describe their experience of misogyny in response to the killings.

This is 鈥� and in September the national curriculum will change鈥� meaning that all children over the age of 5 will have coding lessons at school. To get ready for the changes, many schools are starting coding clubs, teaching children how to create programmes and understand how a computer works. But while there is a drive to get the next generation coding, this field is still male dominated - only 13% of all jobs in Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the UK are occupied by women. 聽So what can be done to make computer science more appealing to girls?

Jenni will be joined by , an education pioneer at the 聽and vice chair of , an initiative to get more girls and minority groups into computing. And by , who runs her own tech marketing company and has been coding since she was at primary school.

Joanna Rakoff was twenty-three when she accepted a job at an old-fashioned literary agency with a very famous client; reclusive author J.D. Salinger.聽 One of Joanna鈥檚 responsibilities was replying to the piles of letters that fans of his books, including Catcher in the Rye and Franny and Zooey, sent to the agency in the vain hope that Salinger would reply to them.聽 Through reading the letters, Joanna began to realise the importance of Salinger鈥檚 work, and eventually the impact that both the letters and the books were having on her.聽 Jenni talks to Joanna about her memoir My Salinger Year.

is one of the pioneers of modern feminism.聽 Her book 'Sexual Politics' caused huge controversy when it was published in 1970. It became the handbook of the Women鈥檚 Liberation Movement.聽 After appearing on the cover of Time magazine she became one of the feminist movement鈥檚 most recognizable faces. But since then she has largely disappeared from both the public eye and contemporary feminism.聽 On Friday takes place to discuss what her contribution has been to the feminist movement. Jenni is joined by Liz Shorrocks, who taught on one of the first Women鈥檚 Studies courses in the UK, and by Victoria Hesford,聽Assistant Professor of Women's and Gender Studies at Stony Brook University, New York who will be giving a talk on Kate Millett.聽
