La mu Dheireadh Lincoln/Lincoln's Last Day

Na h-uairean mu dheireadh aig a' cheann-suidhe Lincoln. Documentary tracing the events of the day that saw Abraham Lincoln assassinated at Ford's Theatre.

Bhon àm a dh'atharraich eachdraidh gu tur, nuair a dh' ionnsaich John Wilkes Booth gun robh Abraham Lincoln gu bhith aig Taigh-cluiche Ford, suas chun a' mhionaid a chaidh an gunna a losgadh, tha am prògram seo a' leantainn na h-uairean mu dheireadh aig a' cheann-suidhe.

On the 14th April 1865, Abraham Lincoln was shot at Ford's Theatre. Just hours later in the early morning of April 15th, he would die. A century and a half later, Lincoln is even more admired than during his lifetime, but what were the events leading up to the death of the most important man in America? Was it a plot activated by the Confederacy itself, or just an act of desperate men?

Lincoln's Last Day traces the action through national treasures from the vaults of the Smithsonian and Ford's Theatre; Lincoln's office suit, his hat, John Wilkes Booth's gun, and even a piece of dress, soaked in Lincoln's blood. From the moment that changed history, when John Wilkes Booth learns that Lincoln would attend Ford's Theatre, to the moment when the trigger is pulled, this program counts down the president's final hours.
