Bouts continue in the ring with medals edging closer as the weightlifting competition concludes.
The medal event in the 109kg weightlifting category could see at least five people breaking the 400kg weight mark. Competitors must complete both a snatch and a clean and jerk, with the combined score providing a ranking score. In the boxing, a win for Galal Yafai will guarantee him a medal in the men's flyweight. He takes on Veitia of Cuba in the quarter-final. Bronze medal matches are not contested at the Olympics so both losing semi-finalists receive a bronze medal. Yafai, from Birmingham, is looking to guarantee GB's boxing group a sixth medal at these games.
Kellie Harrington of Ireland fights Khelif in the women's lightweight quarter-final looking to guarantee herself a medal. The fighter from Dublin came through her round-of-16 bout with a 5-0 win over Italy's Nicoli.
Brit Caroline Dubois is competing in her lightweight quarter-final, looking to secure herself a medal. The boxer takes on Seesondee of Thailand for a place in the semi-finals. She is looking to add yet another medal to GB's tally.
There are other bouts to look out for too with the US Ragan facing Takyi of Ghana for a spot in the final of the men's featherweight and Gadzhimagomedov of the Russian Olympic Committee fighting Nyika of New Zealand for a chance at gold in the Men's heavyweight. Petecio of the Philippines fights host country's Irie in the final of the woman's featherweight. Yildiz of Turkey is be looking for a guaranteed medal when she competes against the Finnish fighter Poykonen.
