Builth Wells 7
Join Charlie Ross for today’s Bargain Hunt in Powys. Experts Kate Bliss and Tim Weeks lead the reds and blues as they battle it out in Builth Wells.
Myth and mystery surround this episode of the show with Charlie Ross.
At the Museum of Gloucester, Charlie learns about artefacts found in the grave of a high-status woman from the late Iron Age or early Roman period. Discovered by quarrymen in the Birdlip area of Gloucestershire in 1879, the items include an ornate bowl, beads from a necklace and a world-famous bronze mirror.
Further north, in Powys, two teams of bargain hunters scour the stalls of an antiques fair in Builth Wells. They are mum and daughter duos Babs and Rachel and Laurel and Georgina.
With 60 minutes on the clock, the reds – guided by expert Kate Bliss – spot a Victorian caddy, but they decide it’s not their cup of tea. The blues, meanwhile, take a fancy to a wooden foo dog but dismiss it when they see how pricey the ‘pooch’ is.
With speedy Tim Weeks as their expert, the blue team finish their shop first and pass the time by having a walking race. You’ll have to watch to see who wins.
