With Mass attendance declining, and a shortage of priests, In Ainm an Athar examines if the Catholic Church in Ireland can weather one of the most challenging storms in its history.
In this hour-long documentary, reporter Kevin Magee investigates what type of church lay Catholics wish for. Through a series of revealing interviews with current members of the clergy, former priests, Catholic laity, the LGBTQ+ community and the hierarchy of the Catholic Church in Ireland, he asks what the future holds for Catholicism in Ireland. Kevin also questions whether the ongoing worldwide Synodal process will deliver answers and chart a way forward.
