Depression is a mental health condition that can affect anyone at any time. It manifests in many different ways and can often be misunderstood. That's why scientists across Wales are actively exploring the impact of depression on individuals, helping us better understand the condition and develop more effective treatments.

Co-Director of the Wolfson Centre for Young People鈥檚 Mental Health, Professor Frances Rice, tells us about the centre in Cardiff and its dedication to understanding anxiety and depression in young people.

We hear from Ricki Takooree, who, at 18, was diagnosed with depression and who hopes that by sharing his story, he can help others feel safe and confident enough to reach out and access the support they need.

Stephanie Jones from Aberystwyth University looks at the impact of loneliness in relation to depression.

Plus, Sophie Hinkman, Co-Chair of the Learning Disability Ministerial Advisory Group, describes the impact depression can have on people with learning disabilities.

If you or someone you know is affected by any of the themes included in this programme and you would like to access support, there is information available online via 成人论坛 Action Line.
