Episode 9
In Norfolk, auctioneer Bee and restorer Saf uncover a widower's antique collection. His garaged boxes overflow with silver, and a shed discovery reveals his late wife's good taste.
On the Norfolk coast, auctioneer Bee Harford and restorer Saf Fakir meet widower Bob, who has decided to part with his late wife’s antique collection.
Bob first met Lande 40 years ago, only to lose touch before reuniting eight years ago. They married within months and spent their retirement exploring antique shops and pursuing their passion for quirky collectibles. Lande's diagnosis with an Alzheimer's-like condition cut their happiness short, and she passed away soon after. Now, five years on from losing Lande, Bob is ready to sell the items they bought together and cherish the memories.
A Victorian pine trunk needs its lid reattaching, but it’s not a straightforward job. Woodworker Saf uses a workshop hack to get the screws to hold tight. In the shed, Saf uncovers a piece of antique furniture that needs restoring – if he does a good job, it could do very well at auction.
Bee rummages through a cabinet of curios... glassware, old bottles and Victorian Christmas baubles should all appeal to collectors in the saleroom. In Bob's garage, boxes of other collectibles hold rare treasures, including a stash of silver items that glitter with value.
With auction proceeds going to charities close to Bob's heart, they have got to sell for as much money as possible. It's up to Saf to restore tired and damaged items, and for Bee to deliver on the rostrum.
