Bill Oddie has been lucky and spotted a pair of short-eared owls on the moors in the middle of the day. Despite the name, you won't see its ears, but can identify them from their big round faces and large size – these are big birds. Bill thinks these two are youngsters. They keep flapping up to have a little play. They are probably exploring the area after being left by their parents to fend for themselves.
