Calling corncrakes
Corncrakes are calling, but can Bill Oddie see where the calls are coming from? These birds can throw their voices, to fool you as to their location. The grass is very long, so they are well hidden. Bill has only seen a corncrake once before. It is a very special bird because there are so few left in Britain. The RSPB and local farmers all co-operate to farm a certain way and cut the hay at set times to avoid destroying the nests. One pops into view for a moment - enough to satisfy Bill. He sings the tune of the Blue Danube waltz along with a corncrake's call.
