Nel finds herself caught up in clashes between protesters and the military in the centre of Cairo in December 2011. The protesters have set up camp again in Tahrir Square because they say change isn’t happening fast enough since they toppled their president Hosni Mubarak a year ago. They’re not convinced the interim military government, SCAF, will hand over power. The people have been given what they wanted – elections. But when SCAF announced the military would remain outside the control of the new democratically elected parliament, protesters took to the streets again
