The family pig
The humble pig was one of the first animals to be domesticated by us Brits some 10,000 years ago.
They quickly became the staple source of protein for the British people providing generation after generation with a cheap and economical source of food. Not only did pork taste really good, but, they were essential to the way of life for rural families. They grew fast, ate anything and famously you could eat every part except the squeal.
