Birhan had been born on a beach and apart from her mama all she had was her sparkly hair.
This story is based on true events and contains some challenging issues, but the overriding theme is one of hope, new beginnings and belonging.
Birhan and her mama have been on a very long journey together all the way from Ethiopia in Africa to find a safe place to live in England. After meeting lots of kind people along the way who have helped Birhan and her mama feel welcome, Birhan decides to do something wonderful and gives some sparkle back to others. #CBeebiesRadio
