#sextakeover poll: What would you consider cheating?

Results from our #sextakeover survey about the UK's attitude to sex and relationships.

This video was made produced by students from the University of Sunderland.

On Tuesday 20th November 5 Live is hosted the #sextakeover - a day of programming focussed on sexual behaviour, relationships and attitudes in the UK.

As part of the event, we commissioned a poll to find out more about the UK's attitudes towards sex.

Nine in ten British adults (91%) say they would consider having sex with someone other than their partner to be cheating, whilst only two in five (40%) say they would consider browsing on a dating app to be cheating.

Of all the statements tested, women are significantly more likely than men to consider it to be cheating. For example, whilst three quarters of women consider paying for an online experience (e.g. cyber sex, a cam girl/boy experience) and kissing someone other than your partner to be cheating (75% and 73% respectively), only half of men said the same (50% and 51% respectively).
