Get ready for the CBeebies Ballet - Puss in Boots!
Filmed at the Nuffield Theatre in Lancaster, Maddie, Danny and the Junkyard Helpers are excited to join Northern Ballet for the very special story of Jack and his birthday.

Maddie and Danny have found a poster advertising stalls for hire at the local market and know just what kind of stall they're going to have. For their stall they'll need things they can up-cycle. Do you know what they're going to make? Danny is sure that the Junkyard Helpers will have lots of ideas - so they need to get moving to meet them.

Maddie, Danny find the Junkyard Helpers are busy up-cycling and making things. With plastic bowls and pompoms, some are making pet toys and decorating dishes. The others are colouring cards for their friend Jack. Jack is always helping everyone especially at the Market when he puts away the stalls - one of the Junkyard Helpers is cleaning up just like Jack! Today is Jack's birthday and they want to surprise him before market. As well as the cards, they're planning a special birthday tea for Jack and his family and have decorated some party plates.

In their cottage, Jack is helping his sister, Jane and his Dad with the washing-up when the Junkyard Helpers arrive with Maddie. He's so pleased with the birthday cards they've made for him but the biggest surprise is the present from his Dad. It's a cat - "Puss"! Soon, it's time for Jack and his Dad to go to the Market, they need to open up their stall - after some persuading Puss goes with them. Jane, Maddie and the Junkyard Helpers set about getting the house ready for Jack's birthday party. Maddie has a great idea - paper chains!

When Jack, his Dad and Puss arrive the Market is already busy - Danny and the Junkyard Helpers are on their Pet stall with their pet toys and dishes for sale. Jack would love to buy something for Puss but he doesn't have a lot of money. The Market Traders admire Puss. They want to give Jack a birthday present too - they measure Puss - and soon he is ready. With a Hat, Belt and Boots, Puss looks splendid! He's Puss in Boots!! Too soon, the market is over and it's time to pack up. Jack helps the traders to put away their stalls and then heads home for his birthday tea with his Dad - come on Puss!
But Puss has other ideas - he's spotted a poster!

Puss is excited - that sounds perfect, as a job would mean he could help out with some money for Jack and his family. Now, where's the Palace? Danny and the Junkyard Helpers say they'll help Puss find the Palace.

Back at Jack's house, Maddie and the Junkyard Helpers have decorated the house with paper chains ready for the birthday tea. But Jack is too upset to enjoy his party - Puss hasn't come home. Where can he be? Maddie and the Junkyard Helpers say they'll help Jack to look for Puss. But it's getting dark. They're sure Puss is ok - do you know that cats love to play outside through the night? Maddie and the Helpers will meet Jack at the market after breakfast to carry on the search for Puss.

And they're right - Puss is safe at the market with Danny and the other Helpers. But before they can get on their way to the Palace, a group of cats arrive - very musical, jazz dancing cats. Danny and the Junkyard Helpers join in with a jive and a high five before, as the moon rises, they head home for bed.

The next day, early in the morning, Puss starts looking for the Palace Gardens while Jack is looking for Puss - they're both seen in various places around Lancaster and the surrounding area.

Soon Puss meets up with Danny and the Junkyard Helpers in the Market. The Helpers know the way to the Palace - it's this way through the Palace Garden. While they are looking for the door, Puss spots some new friends to help them. Bird and Bunny love life in the Palace Garden. There's a fountain that's perfect for Bird to bath in and lots of lovely carrots for Bunny to eat. There's only one problem - the Palace Guard! He doesn't like Bunny eating the Palace carrots, or the mess Bunny leaves behind so he's always trying to shoo Bunny and Bird out of the garden. But today when the Palace Guard starts to shoo them away, Puss, Danny and the Junkyard Helpers join in - helping to hide Bunny and Bird, while creating chaos chasing round the garden. During the chase the Helpers see the Palace door - come on Puss, it's over there. Next step to dance in front of the King!

Maddie and the Junkyard Helpers are at the Market looking for Puss and waiting for Jack. He arrives still looking for Puss as he didn't come home last night. One of the Helpers spots the poster - could this be where Puss has gone? The pawprints that they spot mean only one thing - Puss must have gone this way.

Does Puss get the job as Royal Entertainer? Does Jack find his pet Puss? There's only way to find out by joining in with the dancing at the Palace and the CBeebies Ballet Puss in Boots!
