‘Paul and I are best friends… We’ve got a good crew, good gang’
Daisy Edgar-Jones joined Anita Rani on Woman’s Hour on Friday and reflected on fame and her friendships five years on since she starred in the TV series Normal People.
Daisy and her ‘best friend’ co-star, Paul Mescal, rocketed into the public gaze in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s much-loved novel - the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ lockdown hit had an astonishing 62.7 million views.
Since then Daisy has appeared in a number of well-known films, including Where the Crawdads Sing and more recently Twisters, and has a huge social media following.
She told Anita what the fame has felt like, and also spoke about playing Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Almeida Theatre in London.
