Jordan, 22
Essex boy Jordan struggled with his weight and confidence growing up. Since losing weight he has gained the confidence to pursue a career in singing despite others telling him he “wouldn’t make it”.
Jordan is super close to mum Tracy (his biggest fan) and brothers and currently lives with them in Essex.
Q: What has the reaction been like to you appearing on the show?
“My friends and family have been very supportive. My family have very proud of what I’ve achieved. I have had old school friends and college friends contact me, as they have seen me on a new TV show. Even the people who used to put me down and tell me I’m not good enough have been saying 'Well done you smashed it' and 'We are very proud of you'.”
Q: How have your group been keeping in touch since lockdown?
“We have been having daily calls through WhatsApp, we have been FaceTiming on a daily basis. There has been numerous zoom calls for vocal sessions and it has given us time to blend on our vocals.”
Liam, 24
Worthing-born Liam is a jobbing actor who has performed in various productions on board cruise ships, including playing the main role in Saturday Night Fever. He lives in London with his girlfriend and friend who are both performers.
Liam started off singing as a chorister when he was a small child and his love of music grew from there.
Q: What has the reaction been like from your friends and family?
“In one word - unbelievable. As soon as the episode went live my phone didn’t stop pinging with the most supportive and congratulatory messages. I really felt the love.”
Q: You’re more than bandmates, you’re now also housemates – how has that been so far? Anyone got any bad habits?
“It’s crazy sharing a house with the guys, I think it’s too early to tell with bad habits but I’m sure they will creep out. We’ve just loved being in each other’s company, singing our heads off and dancing around like kids at a sleep over. I have been woken up now a couple times by ‘Melina's Meditation Music’. Worse ways to start the day I guess.”
Melina, 24
Melina is the current holder of the Miss Cheshire title, winning the crown in 2019. She describes herself as a ‘typical Scouser’, who has at least one hair blow dry a week and owns a miniature Pomeranian called Louis - who she can’t wait for Perrie’s Pom called Hatchi to meet!
She is a dance teacher who runs a class where everyone is encouraged to wear high heels (male and female) and she aims to have everyone leave the room feeling empowered and motivated.
Q: How was it performing in front of Little Mix?
“A-MAY-ZINNNNNNG. Honestly doesn’t feel real! I still can’t believe that little old Melina from Liverpool got the opportunity to sing in front of global pop stars. I feel like all my dreams are starting to come true and I don’t think I will ever get used to it.”
Q: What’s the biggest crowd you’ve ever performed in front of?
“I used to dance at the half-time games in stadiums such as Wembley, Twickenham and Lords Cricket ground. They hold up to 85,000 people. Now that was an experience!”
Rosie, 23
Former Game of Thrones body double Rosie has always been performing in either an acting, dancing or modelling capacity. Her biggest passion has always been singing, which she is focusing more on now, whilst growing up in Marbella, Spain with her family.
Rosie is mum to one-year-old Zion and she put everything on hold career-wise when she gave birth to him, but now feels ready to make the best future she can for both of them.
Q: Who are the influences for your band?
“That’s my favourite thing about our band; we have so many different musical inspirations. Like for me I love Fleetwood Mac & Rosalia, Liam Loves JT & Bruno Mars, Melina loves Billie Eilish & Frank Sinatra and Jordan takes massive inspiration from Yebba & Usher.”
Q: Have you had any words of encouragement from Little Mix?
“We are so grateful to have Little Mix as our coaches and mentors, they are constantly reminding us why we got through, how strong we are as a group and really encouraging us too use are strengths and be versatile in our song choices and our performances.”
