Lizzie graduated from Melbourne University in 2000 with a degree in Zoology.
Lizzie founded the with her husband Shayne Neal and, together with their committed team, they work to once more make the Otways region vibrant with wildlife. To this end, they care for a variety of orphaned marsupials, specialising in the care of .
CEC carries out on-ground conservation programmess and research. One of the greatest challenges threatening koalas in southern Australia is habitat decline and restoring and protecting vital woodlands is a key area of focus for the organisation.
In 2005 Lizzie was named the Prime Minister鈥檚 Environmentalist of the Year, and in 2007 Lizzie and Shayne were recognised by the Australian Geographic Society with a Conservation award for their dedication to protecting Victoria's threatened wildlife.
