JJ Chalmers
JJ Chalmers is a former Royal Marines Commando, Invictus Games medalist, TV presenter, media personality and public speaker. After being severely injured from a bomb blast whilst serving as a Royal Marine in Afghanistan JJ suffered life-changing injuries that led him to a long road of recovery.
Not letting his injuries beat him, JJ underwent months of rehabilitation in order to take part in the 2014 Invictus Games. JJ went on to win a gold medal for the Men’s IRecB1 Recumbent Circuit Race. He also won a medal for in Non-amputee Cycling, in the 1-mile Time Trial and in the 4 × 100m Mixed Relay race.
In 2016 JJ returned to the Invictus Games as an Ambassador. He also covered the games for the 成人论坛. As a result of this, JJ has continued to forge a career in the broadcasting world, having hosted the 2012 Rio Paralympics for Channel 4, and presented the 2018 Commonwealth Games for 成人论坛 One.
JJ has since appeared on a number of panelist and documentary shows such as The Last Leg and The Superhumans Show, as well as featuring in the 成人论坛’s coverage of Remembrance at the Cenotaph. In 2017, JJ began presenting sports segments on the 成人论坛 News Channel and 成人论坛 Sports. During speaking events, JJ often discusses subjects such as drive and determination, peak performance, overcoming adversity, mental and physical resilience. JJ uses his own experience and inspirational story to motivate others to achieve their goals.
