Amazing, thrilling and addictive.

Turlough Carr
A very good show indeed. Re-enforces the fact the empire was founded and thrived on murder and greed.

Karl Cubbon
It's interesting to note that in a programme which covers former parts of the British Empire as close as the Republic of Ireland the series does not seem to give any space to 3 smaller territories still part of the empire. I am of course referring to the Crown Dependencies of the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey. All of these territories have quite interesting histories which may be interest in the context of this series.

Steve Horton
Whilst I understand that a line has to be drawn somewhere, I should have thought that the conquest and subsequent colonisation and suppression of the Welsh kingdoms would have been considered an early stage in the creation of the Empire - and therefore worthy of mention.
