    Portsmouth 0-1 Accrington

Ronan Curtis has stepped up second half and Portsmouth look far more effective in that.

He exchanged passes on the right and then rolled a pass inside the full-back for John Marquis to chase but again Stanley keeper Toby Savin is sharp off the line to block.

Savin looks in pain post that save, had to be brave and took full brunt of big John.

    Oxford 2-0 Burton

Oxford have a comfortable lead in terms of goals but Burton making life a bt trickier for them.

    Bit of pressure to defend.

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Charlton 0-0 Hull

Charlton strike the frame of the goal through Jayden Stockley, as he connects with Liam Millar's cross but it's onto the bar and away to safety.

Much more like it from the Addicks.

  5. CLOSE!published at 13:12 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Portsmouth 0-1 Accrington

Brilliant from Ronan Curtis, who bursts forward from his own half and lashes a low drive which prompts Toby Savin into a save.

The corner is nodded tantalisingly into John Marquis but he cannot stretch to reach it.

Marcus Harness then gets into the box, the ball breaks loose but Curtis can only slam his effort over the bar.

    Pompey growing in prominence.

    Portsmouth 0-1 Accrington

Portsmouth get an opening and it's a ball down the right for Marcus Harness who sees his cross turned behind.

Then, a teasing corner is headed away by Cameron Burgess and as the second ball is being contested, Lee Brown fouls Colby Bishop for a silly free-kick.

Dion Charles has just tested Craig MacGillivray with a low shot.

Anonymous: It's frustrating - CAFC pushing hard for that goal, and yes it's not great timing with half-time. One finish on the end of these attacks will really change the pace of the game.Just hoping we can get a couple of goals in early on second half.

    This is it then.

No more team-talks, no more rousing speeches.

It's all about what happens over the white line.

Oxford as it stands are in, Pompey and Charlton to miss out.

    Half-time in League One

The goals flew in during that first half.

A 4-0 advantage for Peterborough at Doncaster is one of the more eye-catching score lines at the break, while Ipswich Town have raced into a 3-0 lead at home to Fleetwood.

Crewe Alexandra's Mikael MandronImage source, Rex Features

It's a thriller at The Alexandra Stadium meanwhile, with Mikael Mandron's brace putting Crewe two clear of Shrewsbury, only for the visitors to peg them back through Shaun Whalley and former Alex striker Daniel Udoh.

As things stand, Blackpool and Lincoln will have home advantage in the second leg of their play-off semi-finals, as they are goalless at home to Bristol Rovers and AFC Wimbledon respectively.

    HT: Charlton 0-0 Hull

    Joe Thompson
Former Rochdale and Tranmere midfielder on Squad Goals

This is where as a manager you earn your money. In the next 10 minutes Nigel Adkins needs to make sure his Charlton players go out there and leave everything on the pitch.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Charlton 0-0 Hull

The way things are going, Charlton are out of the running for the play-offs.

They weathered the Hull storm early on but Nigel Adkins would no doubt like a bit more going forward.

Easier said than done against the division's champions.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Portsmouth 0-1 Accrington

Not a half Danny Cowley will recall fondly. He has some work to do with his Portsmouth side.

Accrington have been excellent. John Coleman will surely look at this game and think 'it could have been us'.

Big 45 to come. All Pompey need to do is better Oxford and Charlton's result, it is in their hands.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Portsmouth 0-1 Accrington

It's a Posh party at Doncaster!

Darren Ferguson's side are showing that they are worthy of the automatic promotion spot they secured last weekend as they are now 4-0 up thanks to a first League One goal for Ricky Jade-Jones.

There are also four goals at Crewe, but they are evenly shared, with Shrewsbury's Daniel Udoh pulling the game back to 2-2 against his former team.

Horses playing harps: Keep hearing a big group of Oxford fans cheering and then wait to see if it’s because Oxford scored or Portsmouth conceded. Realised one of the most recent cheers must have been because Swindon conceded.

Roger: Portsmouth not shown up yet, Stanley look like the the team fighting for the play-offs

  20. Postpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Portsmouth 0-1 Accrington

Portsmouth trying to find some space to work in but Accrington's pursuit of the ball is really aggressive, like wild dogs haring after every blue shirt.

John Marquis has been a bit isolated at the other end of the field, and Ryan Williams has seldom been involved. Pompey need to get him involved as he has the craft required.
