What is the aim of the show?
The Wall is a big old comedy mix of celebrity guests, studio based sketches, music video and pictures submitted by you, the audience.
Over the coming weeks you'll start seeing more and more opportunites to get inolved by uploading your content to the website so keep your eyes peeled.
For example we'll be asking you to send in questions for our guests, fiddle around with pictures or just send in funny things you’ve made that fit the bill.  Assuming you haven’t just scribbled over a photo of the presenters or videoed the contents of your fridge, your ‘stuff’ may become part of the rich tapestry of The Wall website.
The really funny bits may also make its way onto the TV show so if one of your submissions appears on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three you should consider that a personal victory.
Who can submit stuff?
Here on ‘The Wall’ we like to think of ourselves as pretty grown up, so we do lots of mature things like swearing, so please check that you are old enough to hear filthy language. The last time we checked that was 16, so unfortunately if you’re under 16 we can’t accept your submissions.
What are we looking for?
Videos, pictures or photos. As long as they’re funny we’re very probably interested. However there are a few things you should know about first.
What should I not include?
Nudity isn’t a good idea, we’re not prudes or anything but our lawyers don’t like it. Copyrighted material is also a minefield, so this means you can’t use commercially available music, or pictures and photos that you didn’t make or take yourself (or which include people whose permission you have not got). That means no radio, recorded music, commercial backing tracks, karaoke devices, DVDs or TV - even if it's in the background.
Trademarked logos are also right out (for example Nike ticks and any other branded logos on things like clothing, games, food and drink).
Here’s a list of other things that are not allowed:
Hurting yourself, hurting others, racism, homophobia, forms of intolerance, breaking the law and damaging the reputation of people, companies or their products or services. Finally and this is an important one, No under 16's should appear in your video more than fleetingly (preferably not at all) so there's no point getting the local Cub Scouts to appear as unpaid extras in your video.
The rule of thumb is that as long as it's legal, not obscene, defamatory and does not infringe someone else's privacy or rights it should be OK. But please do make sure that if you haven't shot the video or photo you have permission from its creator and those people appearing in it, to use it. If you are in any doubt about this, please tell us by emailing thewall@bbc.co.uk with your name, your proposed contribution and your query.
How do I upload stuff to the wall?
Wherever there’s an opportunity for you to send in your material you should see a ‘submit’ button on screen. Assuming you have your picture or video to hand on your hard drive, or similar, then you are ready to go. You’ll be asked for your name, location and a valid e-mail address so once you’ve filled those in you can upload your file.
Videos should be no longer than 3 minutes and less than 4mb in size, though we are pretty flexible with the file format .flv, .wmv, .asf, .avi, .mov, .3gp, .mpg, .mpeg, or .mp4 are all cool with us.
Pictures should be in .jpg format and less than 3mb in size.
You must also read carefully the terms and conditions and tick the box as well to confirm you agree with them (including that the material is really yours, that you are over 16 and that its okay for us to show it on ‘The Wall’ website and on the TV show).
Once you’ve uploaded your file a highly trained member of The Wall team will take a look at it and if everything’s okay post it up on site. This might take a little while so don’t worry if it doesn’t appear online instantly.
Will my submission definitely be shown?
We want to post up as much material as possible and share this with other viewers of The Wall website. However, if we think your material breaches any of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳’s applicable guidelines, including , we have sole discretion not to upload your submission. We also have discretion to decide whether we think your submission is funny enough to make it onto The Wall Website, or onto the show if it’s brilliant. We may also receive a high volume of submissions and unfortunately we cannot guarantee that we will post up all submissions.
What if I want to remove my submission?
If you change your mind about wanting your material online simply mail thewall@bbc.co.uk from the e-mail address you supplied when you uploaded it and we will remove it from the website within a maximum of 5 working days.
Who owns my material?
When you upload your pictures or videos to ‘The Wall’ you agree that we can use them on this site and on TV. Please refer to paragraph 2(b) of the Terms and Conditions for more detail of the rights you grant to us and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ in your material. However, it is still your material so you are completely free to re-use it anywhere else.
