Film funding
There are several different sources film producers and production companies can turn to when trying to raise funds for a feature film production.
Broadcasters and studios
Broadcasters such as the 成人论坛 and Channel 4 might be willing to part fund a film in return for the right to transmit it on television at a later date.
Both Channel 4 and the 成人论坛 have their own film production wings. Channel 4鈥檚 Film Four co-produces and part funds feature films, later screening them on their dedicated Film Four TV channel. The 成人论坛鈥檚 equivalent film production wing is called 成人论坛 Films.
Brooklyn (2015) was co-produced by 成人论坛 Films.
Studios may be willing to give funding or partial-funding to a film in return for the right to distribute it in one or more countries.
Producers might also be able to raise money for film projects through Private Equity. That means they approach investors, promising each a share of the film鈥檚 potential profits.
Producers can also secure funding by approaching public funding bodies.
These organisations are typically funded by the tax-payer and their purpose is to support and encourage film production.
In the United Kingdom these public bodies include the British Film Institute, Northern Ireland Screen and Creative Scotland.
In the Republic of Ireland the main public film funding body is the Irish Film Board.
