Walsall illuminations - 26th September Lousy weather hasn't stopped the Black Country hosting some great events over the summer of 2008 and there are plenty more still to come. Below you'll find details of those upcoming. Remember: if you'd like to tell others about your event, add it to one of our community noticeboards below.August 2008Medieval fun in Brierley HillShoppers visiting Brierley Hill听 on Saturday 30th August are invited to step back in time with medieval re-enactments taking place in the Moor Centre. Medieval fun at Brierley Hill Activities include demonstrations of a medieval surgery, weapons, tile making, crafts and music,听face painting and falconry displays, with re-enactors in full costume. The event will be free of charge. Black Country Waterways FestivalSeptember 2008Wolverhampton MarathonHundreds of runners will pound the streets of Wolverhampton on Saturday 7th September for the 11th annual Wolverhampton Marathon. Featuring a full marathon, half marathon (including wheelchairs), half marathon relay challenge and 15K Cycle Event, the event once again culminates at West Park. Wolverhampton Marathon 2007 Netherton Victoriana DayOn Saturday 20th September, Netherton will step back to the late 19th Century. Netherton Arts Centre will be transformed into a Victorian Cinema for the day and there will be Victorian fashion shows, artefacts and games will be on display as well as demonstrations from re-enactment groups. Walsall IlluminationsOn 28th September, Walsall again becomes a feast of light and colour, as the Illuminations begin. Tens of thousands of people will visit the Arboretum for the event which lasts until the 2nd of November.

A Battle of the bands competition, fairground rides and dozens of theatre and music performances were just some of the highlights. Wednesbury CarnivalThe 34th annual Wednesbury Carnival happened on Saturday 12th July and featured a fancy dress parade, viking re-enactment and loads of outdoor attractions. Wolverhampton ShowMonster trucks, fairground rides and family entertainment were just some of the highlights of one of Wolverhampton's biggest shows on 12th and 13th July.听 RaW Storytelling eventMax and Lara's Amazing Travelling Space Circus and the 成人论坛 RaW Family Storytelling Festival came to Bantock House in Wolverhampton Saturday 19th July.
