Equality In Audio

James Purnell

Director, Radio & Education

In the past few days many of my colleagues have mentioned to me the which has been circulating in social media - it’s something that the team behind the initiative hope will kick start a conversation that shifts the culture of our industry.

As 成人论坛 Radio, we will sign up to this as we support what it aims to do.

We have commitments in place around the five areas included in the pact, and if you haven’t seen it yet, this covers paying our interns, hiring people based on their abilities and potential, and releasing our pay gap data and a significant volume of detail about our workforce too. We always consider representation when we are invited to take part in panels, and we’ll work with organisers to ensure that continues to be the case when it comes to audio industry events.

The issues highlighted in the pact are hugely important, and across 成人论坛 Radio we are doing more to create change and to increase diversity and equality. For us to remain relevant to all of our audiences, and for us to harness the best creative ideas, we know the importance of diversity in its broadest sense. We have both on and off air initiatives to make change happen, including increasing representation across our senior leadership teams, running training schemes, expanding the 成人论坛’s 50:50 Project and implementing a range of recommendations designed to further increase the socio-economic diversity of our workforce.

We want to create a genuinely diverse and representative 成人论坛 that takes us to the future, and we are working alongside world class audio companies to change the UK audio industry for better as the list of signatories shows.
