The View - 'Same Jeans'
OK, in order to appreciate where I'm coming from with this one, you might need to step in your random musical time machine and imagine this being played after Cornershop at a disco in 1997. Which would make you, what, 5, 6?
This track takes after its musical brother, in that it's all a bit 'Brimful of Asha' y'see. Which means there's an instant jig factor going on here people, be excited!
It’s one of those songs that is so jolly you can imagine doing a hyper-legged jig to it after a red bull or two on a Saturday night. And lets face it, why the hell not? It's easy on the ear and has this lazy, carefree attitude. Forget about all that 'most important new band' cack the music press are banging on about, you can just enjoy this one, simply because you can, which is good – honest!
If you can look past the fact the lyrics are about the fact that as a band they’re probably a bit stinky from not changing their jeans for...probably quite a while now...we reckon there’s a place in the chart for these guys – c'mon then, we're excited about yous lot - what else you got?
Released: January 15th

No, man this is s***.
I turn over every time it comes of the fricking TV.
And they all look like they're taking their SATs this year.
1990s Indie was far superior to this; it's more throw away than throw back.
Complain about this postYes I think 1990's Indie was better.
But still this is most excellent :)
Complain about this posthey, the view are s*** hot, love the vid, looks just like a saturday night out/morning after, to quote the chant at their gigs "The View, The View, The View Are On Fire! The View, The View, The View Are On Fire!"
Complain about this postI can hear the cornershop comparison, but the version you're thinking of was remixed by Fat Boy Slim, the original was quite monotone and dirgish before norman remixed it.
Complain about this postAs for these guys, good luck to them, nice to see some young people dressing down for a change and not pandering to producers who'd want them looking clean and shiny.
