Timbaland ft. Keri Hilson & D.O.E. - 'The Way I Are'

TimbalandEver wondered what it would sound like if synthesizers could poo? Well, take a listen to this and wonder no more. The low-end rumble on Timbaland's latest has such a squitty, bowelly undercurrent to it, innocent listeners would be forgiven for expecting to hear a sharp exhalation once the song is over, followed by a big splash and an unidentified (robot) voice sighing "OHHHhhh! That's better..."

This isn't just some idle scatalogical robotic fantasy on my part, you understand...well...not MUCH of one. Those really are the quackiest bass synths since R2-D2 suffered a prolongued bout of space diarrhoea after accidentally drinking syrup of galactic figs instead of 'droid lube. But if you listen carefully, you'll hear that one of them is playing the synth-line from 'Push It' by Salt 'n' Pepa (ask YouTube if you're unsure). Which sort of continues the poo theme (geddit? PUSH IT? No?).

Or at least it does in my head. Everyone thoroughly disgusted now? Wanna move on? Oh ALRIGHT...

As a song, this has none of the melodic flair of 'Give It To Me', none of the intense rhythmic amazingness of any of those Nelly Furtado/Timbaland songs, and seems to just be one of Justin Timberlake's leftover (sexy)backing tracks with new words added.

None of which makes it a BAD SONG, you understand, it's just not massively pointful in a world where other, better Timbaland collaborations still exist on his album without being released as a single. Like the one he did with MIA, or some of his Bjork-work.

So, a liberal dose of synth-immodium later, can we file this under 'will do for now' and await further developments? Marvy...

in answer to dannii...This song is one of Timbalands good songs but to be honest the stuff he did with Aaliyah is A LOT better :). Just a recommendation :)
