Festival Café - day eight
Festival Café runners Sophie Stephenson, Rebecca Davies, Maria Smith and Andrea MacKinnon have written this blog about day eight working on the show.
So we had a guy in his underpants on stage today... No wait, Guy in his underpants. Guy Masterson joined us to perform an extract from his one man play 'The Half' and spent his time backstairs listening to the lovely Nicola Benedetti rehearse in the Green Room.Nicola Benedetti with our Festival Café runners
She sounded even more magical when she performed on the show and was a pleasure to talk to. Not only did we have the sounds of Szymanowski coming from Nicola's sound check, we had our own rave party in the form of DJ Johnny Whoop and Keiran Hurley who were on the show doing an extract from their play 'Beats'. New York arrived in the form of Laura Levites and Lach (pronounced nothing like "loch" but is, in fact, said "latch").
Laura wore a studded denim jacket embellished with the stars and stripes of the American flag which, combined with her striking red hair and shoes, complimented her fun and quirky personality.
