Thirteen children!
When I was in my early thirties, I remember telling someone that I had treize enfants ("thirteen children"). Only when they expressed incredulity did I realise that I should have said trois ("three").

Everybody has trouble with pronunciation. It's very hard to have a good accent without living in the country speaking the language you're learning.
I've been learning French for about 7 years now and my pronunciation is still not right.
To that end, may I recommend being an au pair? I took care of a 5 year old, which did wonders for my French. Little kids have simple vocabulary and don't mind being asked the same question day after day "What did you eat for lunch today?" In addition the stories I was reading to him helped increase my vocabulary tenfold!
