The summer reading challenge is taking place at libraries across Leicester, with activities for five to 11 year olds in 11 of the 16 libraries in the city area.

Youngsters will love Stonehurst Farm in Mountsorrel or the Gorse Hill City Farm in Leicester.

Snibston Discovery Park

If you're in the northwest of the county you will know the delights Snibston Discovery Park has to offer.

It has galleries on things such as transport, light, engineering and fashion. There's an entry discount for youngster up to 15 years-old.

Project Apollo

The launch of Project Apollo at the National Space Centre is helping to mark the 40th anniversary of the very first Apollo moon landings.

Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong took that one small step that really was a giant leap for mankind.

The new exhibition includes a new simulator where you can practice landing the lunar module as well as be transported back in time with the sights and sounds of the 60s... The adults will enjoy that too!
