Bursts of honeyed vocals, searing guitars and pulsating basslines are set to titilate your eardrums on new music radio show ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Introducing.

A bit like an indie Pete Tong, the show will signal the start of your weekend, filling the 7 to 8pm slot each Friday.

At the core of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Introducing - being put together by staff at bbc.co.uk/norfolk and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Voices - is a mission to bring you the latest music and news from bands and singers hailing from our county.

You will also be able to get the lowdown on gigs and tune in to interviews with the hottest new talents.

³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Introducing family ties

As the newest, softest-skinned sprog of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Introducing family, tracks by Norfolk acts played on our programme could end up being spun by our big daddy, Huw Stephens on his Radio 1 shows.Ìý

So far, Norfolk acts Context, Go Public, Hasikara Smile, Kunk, Rigo Jancsi and The Lost Levels have all been played on Radio 1 after sending in tracks to our show.

Already, a cherry-picked selection of bands - who have been featured on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s new music radio shows across BritainÌý - have strutted the Introducing stage at Glastonbury, with city band The Kabeedies flying the flag for Norfolk at the festival in 2008.

The Kabeedies were also asked to front a report for Steve Lamacq's Radio 1 show on the Norwich scene - put together by the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Introducing team - which was broadcast on Monday, 9 June, 2008.

The band also charted their rise for Huw Stephens' Radio 1 show on Wednesday, 25 June, 2008 - when Huw also mentioned a host of other Norfolk bands and gig news.

Also local bands may be chosen to play a session at Maida Vale, like The Brownies, from Norwich, who got to re-tread the steps of some of the world's top names.
