If you think of yourself as the next Stephen Spielberg and want to find like minded movie enthusiasts in Norfolk, the Norwich Movie Makers might be the people for you.

The Norwich Movie Makers originated from a group of cine enthusiasts who formed in the early 1960's.

Although most of the group now work with video, there are still a number of dedicated film enthusiasts who continue to use Super8 and 16mm film.

The next generation

Despite successfully making a variety of films over the years, including comedies, documentaries and murder mysteries, the Movie Makers are keen to attract younger members to the group.

"The members can be actors, writers, cameramen or directors. We embrace a variety of talent. Even if you're a complete beginner you can still be involved," said Terry Burchell, a senior member of the club.

"You don't need to have your own equipment, just lots of enthusiasm," he added.

TheÌýgroup approached the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Big Screen team about getting their creations on the 25 square metre screen at Chapelfield in Norwich.

"Some of the films are very entertaining, you're certainly in for a treat," said Becky Betts, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Big Screen producer.

The films shown on the Big Screen included:

March of the Movie Makers, The Daily News, Riverside Walk and Antique Antics.

Cutting edge techniques

The Daily News is a tongue-in-cheek news bulletin made by The Movie Makers. The group were keen to experiment with chroma key.

Chroma key is an effect where you put an image onto a background that isn't actually there. This technique is often referred to as 'blue screen' and is more commonly used by weather presenters.

More films produce by the group are scheduled to be broadcast on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Big Screen in 2009 and the Movie Makers are keen to extend their membership to anyone with a passion for film making.
