Peter Mitchell

My name is Peter Mitchell, born Ashford, Middlesex in 1978. At the age of 16 I came to live in N. Ireland, Currently residing in Belfast. I write poems whenever inspiration hits me although in truth it seems they write themselves. I love to write when I can. I enjoy the poems of Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon, Robert Browning and Seamus Heaney. I also find the lyrics of the Arctic monkeys and Reverend and the Makers amongst others help to ignite my passion for writing.

Should We Not All Hug Trees by Peter Mitchell

Should we not all hug trees as they give us air?
If they soon disappear you ' ll wish they were there
As we choke on the damage that we cannot repair
Should we not all hug trees as they give us air?

You may laugh at the people who live to feed pidgins
But aren't they doing nice things with all there ambition?
For these harmless old birds flock and strut 鈥榬ound them
Pigeons are cool and I'd say I quite like them.

One persons pleasure, to another is madness
One fellows smile, can provoke others sadness
In a world so unsure, what can we do?
Apart from admit that we don't have a clue.
