Richard Warren, lead singer of Cold Light of Day, was the driving force behind Notts band The Hybirds.

After they split in 1998, he started Echoboy and released several albums. At one point he was even pursued by Noel Gallagher to join Oasis.

Huw Costin is Cold Light of Day's bassist and co-singer/songwriter.

Huw was the lead singer of Earth the Californian Love Dream. After they split he went solo and released a critically acclaimed album titled 'Regrets' in 1995.

The respect is deep between Rich and Huw. Rich says:

"It's a real honour to work with [Huw] as a song writer because I always thought he was the best."

Disillusionment

Having experienced the ups and downs of the music industry Rich and Huw now realise what's important to them.

"We have an unwritten manifesto to steer away from that world of Myspace, and that sort of stuff, I don't know what it's doing to music but I don't think it's positive," says Rich.

"Essentially we want to play, we want to write and record. All this basic stuff that people forget about," says Huw.

"...You get to know what's important," adds Rich.
