The Proms on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 3

The Proms are broadcast live on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 3. This includes 75 concerts from the Royal Albert Hall and 13 concerts from Cadogan Hall.

³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 3 also broadcasts the four Composer Portraits and the Inspire Young Composers' Concert from the Royal College of Music.

Related programming across the schedule brings rich context and insights to the music. There are daily interviews and performances by Proms artists on In Tune, a Proms focus in Summer CD Review, highlights from Proms Plus and the Proms Literary Festival in Twenty Minutes, and regular Proms updates from presenters and listeners in Breakfast.

Petroc Trelawny presents the Proms Preview Evening on the eve of the season's opening, and Sean Rafferty and Petroc Trelawny jointly host a special In Tune, broadcast live from the Royal College of Music on the First Night of the Proms, capturing the anticipation and excitement as the festival begins.

Three Proms-related music features during the season include Why Mahler?, a documentary reassessing the composer's life and music through the prism of its effect on people's lives, presented by Norman Lebrecht (18 July).

Pianist Joanna MacGregor presents Scriabin – A Life In Colour, and explores the eccentric world of this Russian composer (14 August) while in Sir Henry's Hoard Stephen Johnson looks at Wood's bound collection of thousands of concert programmes from across Europe, dating from the earliest years of the 20th century and recently discovered in a dark corner of the British Library (4 September).

Norman Lebrecht's in-depth interviews with leading musicians, about their lives and careers are also back on Monday evenings during the Proms.

The Proms on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ TV

Katie Derham introduces coverage of the Proms on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Two and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ HD, including the First and Last Nights and every Saturday Night during the season.

³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Four shows Proms every Thursday and Friday, and offers enhanced coverage that includes behind-the- scenes footage of the orchestras rehearsing and extensive insights from the musicians.

For the first time viewers will be able to enjoy the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Proms on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three as it joins ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ One, Two, Four and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ HD in bringing the Proms to the nation by hosting the return of the Doctor Who Prom.

Charles Hazlewood, Suzy Klein, Petroc Trelawny and Sara Mohr-Pietsch present ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Four's coverage. They are joined by expert guests and some of the soloists and conductors, who discuss their work and answer viewers' text messages and email questions during the intervals.

The first part of the Last Night of the Proms is live on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Two and the second part is live on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ One and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ HD. Viewers will also be able to enjoy the Proms in the Park locations around the country via the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Red Button.

Digital viewers will also be able to use the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Red Button to enjoy an enhanced viewing experience of selected Proms. The Maestro Cam returns to offer a conductor's-eye view and the new Players' Commentary service allows viewers to hear musicians offering expert analysis as the performance takes place.

Proms lovers can find all the latest details of daily events at all venues on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Proms website. There are comprehensive programme notes for every concert and the Proms blog gives exclusive performance and behind-the-scenes insight.

Every Proms broadcast on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ radio or television is available to listen or watch again for seven days after broadcast via the iPlayer.

New ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Proms Archive

For the first time ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Proms is making its programming archive available online with a new searchable database of concerts, artists, composers and works. More information will be available in July when the database is launched.
